Getting to choose your own home office essentials is one of the perks of working from home. You’re free to express your style without worrying whether your notebook looks professional enough for that all-important meeting.
As a kid, I was totally obsessed with stationery (still am). One of the highlights of the school summer break was getting to choose my pens and pencil cases for the new school season. I did do other things during the school holidays, I promise. But browsing the stationery aisles in search of the perfect, must-have lever arch files brought me moments of pure joy.
Fast forward 20+ years and I’m still a bit of a stationery fanatic. I love getting stocked up on anything desk-related that will help my working day seem that little bit brighter. I can always justify spending money on home office essentials if they’re beautifully designed (within reason – I’m not made of money!).
The ultimate list of home office essentials!
There are SO many options out there, it was tricky to whittle them down to a list of my favourites. But here you have it – a list of home office essentials that are so beautifully designed, they can’t help but put a smile on your face.
‘Don’t Quit’ productivity planner
I love planners! I’m certain there is a link between how pretty my weekly planner is and how productive I am!
This 12-month weekly planner from Lamare not only looks sleek inside and out, but is perfectly arranged to keep you on track. Aside from space to plan out your weekly activities, it contains ‘weekly reflection’ pages to help you monitor progress towards achieving your goals.
The faux leather vegan cover gives it a sturdy and professional finish, perfect for carrying in your handbag (if we’re ever allowed outside again). It comes in four different colours, each with a different motivational message on the front. I personally can’t decide between the pastel blue and pink. They’re both gorgeous! What’s more, it’s undated, so you can start it any time of the year. Don’t you hate it when you find the perfect planner in June – that’s half the year wasted already!

‘My Brain Has Too Many Tabs Open’ notebook
This notebook cover is an accurate description of what is going on inside my mind most of the time. I am a massive overthinker and always have way too much happening in my brain!
Another stylish yet practical notebook from Paperchase, this 150-page notebook will help you put your constant stream of thoughts into some kind of order. It’s divided into ten equal sections, which is perfect to help organise your notes and bring some calm to your mind.

Rose Gold 4-in-1 Desk Organiser
If you’re a fan of rose gold and hate desk clutter, this is for you.
I am a total sucker for rose gold and geometric styling, so got a little over-excited when I came across this 4-in-1 desk organiser.
Complete with file holder, mail holder, pen holder and letter tray, this set has everything you need to keep your desk organised and stylish. Each rack is large enough to get the job done without totally taking over your desk space.

Marble and rose gold stapler and tape dispenser set
I am totally obsessed with marble designs at the moment, and not just when it comes to my home office essentials! As you can tell from other areas of my website and my Pinterest, I love a marble background.
I never even thought about upgrading my stapler until I saw this set. You can even get rose gold staples to match! Stapling just got classy!

Ted Baker Bowdelicious rose gold pen
I used to think that you had made it in life when you had a pen that wasn’t a Bic. There’s nothing wrong with Bics at all. I use them myself everyday. But sometimes, when I’m writing a birthday card or working on something important and need that bit of extra inspiration, I like to bring out a posh pen. Something that means business.
At the moment, my posh pen of choice is one I took from my hotel room when I stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel in Sofia for my 30th birthday. As soon as that runs out though, I will be putting in an order for this bow-tiful pen (see what I did there?).
Apart from it being rose gold, I like that it’s a serious pen that still has femininity. And it’s very affordable. A win-win I’d say!

Pastel highlighters that tell you you’re beautiful
Gone are the days when you can only find highlighters in four standard neon colours. Highlighters have definitely upped their game in recent years and pastel highlighters are most definitely a thing.
Apart from the colours being so pretty, I love the images on the side of this set, which are designed by hand lettering artist Hanna Rabenstein. Anything that tells me I’m ‘be-you-tiful’ is always welcome.

Pretty page markers
I am constantly taking notes and find that I completely lose track of them if I don’t use page markers. They’re so handy for helping you to remember where the hell you wrote those really important notes two weeks ago.
These ones from Busy B are gorgeous and contain different styles of page markers, including arrows and bubbles, which are perfect for keeping you super-organised.
You can choose from six different designs. I think I like the ‘navy contemporary’ design the best, but also love ‘cream floral’. I can’t decide! Would love to know what you think.

‘To accomplish’ sticky notes
This ‘To Accomplish’ sticky note pack from Knock Knock really adds a touch of humour to getting organised.
I first came across Knock Knock when I won their ‘Make a decision’ and ‘Today’s plan of attack’ sticky notes at work (don’t ask). Anyone who knows me can testify to the fact that I am incredibly indecisive, so these have been really handy!
As well as helping you to keep track of the things you actually need to get done, this set helps you to work out what to put off or delegate. Why stress about doing something yourself if someone else can do it for you?!

I’m a big believer in “what the mind can conceive, the mind can achieve.” Thinking big and really believing you can achieve your ambitions are key for making your dreams a reality.
This set of 52 inspiring quotes will help to spur you on and keep you on track in those moments when self-doubt creeps in. They even come with a little stand so you can prop up your quote of the day on your desk. I keep them on my desk all the time and they really help to give me a boost.

A daylight lamp to (quite literally) brighten your day!
While this is definitely not the prettiest item in my list, it’s probably the most practical. I bought this when I moved into a new flat in November last year only to discover that there was very little natural light in my workspace. I thrive on natural light so I sought to try and replicate it with this lamp.
Clearly, nothing is as good as having actual sunlight soak your desk, but I have to say, this floor lamp from the Daylight Company has done an excellent job of brightening up my space. Its flexible arm and moveable double heads make it really easy to pinpoint the light exactly where you need it. The four brightness levels are also really handy for getting just the right amount of light.
